Dead Kennedys - Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death
I start this review mere minutes before Thanksgiving dinner and there are small children I don't know running around downstairs and causing a ruckus. I figured I would take safe haven in my computer room and write a review of the CD 'Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death' by the Dead Kennedys which I had purchased the day before. The Dead Kennedys' sound gives almost the perfect background music to the ambiance around the house. I would have watched 2001: Space Odyssey by one of my all time favorite directors Stanley Kubric but one of the children kept yelling out, "Monkey!"
Now it's post Thanksgiving dinner and there was no bloodshed... Hooray.
Anyhow, The Kennedys' have a rather strange flavor in their music. They can go from some of the more angry songs which I call "Yell Songs" to rather mellow songs that are easy on the ears but figuratively punch you in the face and make you look at the politics standing around you. The song 'Kinky Sex (Makes the World Go Around)' is a prime example of this.
It's not all serious, though. For you fans of the Dead Milkmen there are songs like 'Night of The Living Rednecks' which describes a normal evening in grand ol' Oregon.
No bonus stuff on this CD, at least none that I could find. If Real One player wasn't such a son-of-a-bitch I might have been able to find out a little easier rather than having the fucking player pop up every god damn time I wanted to do something.
...I fucking hate Real One player.
Best Song: The Man with the Dogs
Worst Song: Buzzbomb from Pasadena
Rating: 7 of 10
P.S. I know the review is short. I'm full of turkey and I don't particularly want to finish this bitch. Be happy with what you got.
